Revamped Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA)
The Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) scheme was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on National Panchayati Raj Diwas (24th April 2018). It aims to strengthen Gram Sabha functions effectively as the basic forum for people’s participation, transparency, and accountability in the Panchayat System.
Subsequently, the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Revamped RGSA was approved by the Government on 13.04.2022 for implementation from 2022-23 to 2025-26 (co-terminus with XVth Finance Commission Period).
Funding Pattern
The funding pattern is in the ratio of 90:10 (Central: State) for the Northeastern States.
Main Objectives of RGSA Scheme
- Capacity Building & Training support for PRIs.
- Institutional Infrastructure (Construction of SPRC, DPRC, and Panchayat Bhawan including Recurring Cost).
- E-enablement of Panchayats.
